Multiuser ADSL Modem setup ZTE ZXDSL 531B for dataone

Today I am quite Happy since I have completed configuring the ZTE 531B ADSL dataone modem to be used as PPPoE.

What I have did was...

1) I have opened firefox browser and enetered http://192.168.1.1/ in address bar..

2) This had opened this window and this contains ZTE 531B discriptions..

3) Now on left pane there is a option named Advanced Setup... click on this...

4)This will drop down and will show following window (WAN) on right pane by default...

5) Now select first line PPPoE protocol and click on Edit Button....
and then follow the same instructions as on screen shots....

6) Here just enter your own login and password provided by bsnl

7) Now reboot your ADSL modem and you can connect to internet without using a dialer from your own PC... :)

you can download these images for better visibility.......

Cheers...

  6. Yes Akshay, You can reset the modem.. By doing following steps...

    1) Power on your modem.
    2) Take a paper pin/Ball point pen refill and on backside of modem there is small hole..(This hole is labeled with name "Reset"), you need to put the Pin in that hole and keep it pressed for 10 seconds. This will reboot your modem automatically,
    3) After this connect the modem with computer and log in with user:- admin and pass:- admin

    4) Now you can set your modem as you wanted...

  8. Hi Virender,

I think you need to try the lan2 and lan3 for the connections... else it may be issue with modem hardware..

  9. i have a zxdl 531b type2 modem. its ADSL PART IS DAMAGED. NOW I AM USING IT AS A ROUTER WITH MY BASIC MODEM. I AM USING ALL THE 4 PORTS AND WIRELESS NETWORK WITHOUT ANY DIFFICULTY.( 4 DESKTOPS, 1 LAPTOP, 1 TAB, 2 ANDROID MOBILES AND NET RADIO). AFTER PURCHASING A NEW TYPE2 MODEM, I DECIDED TO USE IT AT MY OFFICE LAN TO RUN MY PC AND ANDROID DEVICES WHICH WERE WORKING AT HOME. MY OFFICE USES 10.145.XX.XX GATEWAY AND SUBNET MASK 255.255.255.192. I CONFIGURED FOR THE MENTIONED NETWORK ADDRESS, BUT IT DID NOT WORK. PLEASE SUGGEST.

  10. Use subnet mask 255.0.0.0 and place your default gateway as the modem IP or the IP of machine which is acting as Firewall/router in your office.. This should resolve the issue or just give me more details on my mailid I would review them.. sandeepbharmoria@gmail.com

    regards
